Bhubaneswar: The mad rush of tourists for the Marine Drive Eco Retreat organised by Odisha Tourism on Ramchandi beach at Konark has forced the organisers to extend the carnival schedule till February 15. The Retreat was supposed to be closed on January 31.
The Odisha tourism department is going to host a two-day conclave of State tourism ministers and secretaries on January 23 and 24 to promote the carnival across the country. The chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, will inaugurate the conclave which will have discussion on strategies for development of tourism across the country. Union tourism minister Prahlad Singh Patel is going to grace the conclave.
The tourism department is also encouraging corporate houses and professional organisations to host their annual conclaves at Eco Retreat.
“We were overwhelmed by the huge response we got for the Eco Retreat”, said the Odisha tourism secretary, Vishal Dev.
The Marine Drive Eco Retreat offer tourist an unique blend of glamorous camping on the virgin beach with all luxurious amenities. There are 50 luxury tents, delectable cuisine, beach spa, adventure and water sports activities, cultural evenings, nature trails and wholesome day itineraries.
