Angul: Odisha police DGP Abhay has appreciated the efforts of Angul and Dhenkanal districts SPs in containing the anti-social activities of coal mafias.
He also expressed his satisfaction that Maoists activities in Deogarh and Angul district have been effectively controlled.
The DGP was reviewing the law and order situation in North Central Range, here on Wednesday. ADGP intelligence RK Sharma, IGP modernization Rekha Lohani, IGP NRC, SPs of Angul, Dhenkanal and Deogarh districts were present.
The DGP, however, expressed his concern over low conviction rates. He directed too improve investigation process, use of scientific method of investigation and use of digital forensics.
Abhay asked the senior police officers of the police Range to focus on organised crimes like drug peddling, ganja cultivation and smuggling, swindling and cyber crime cases.
