Bhubaneswar: The national generating company NTPC is going to add over 2000 MW capacity in Odisha.

Sundargarh district will be synchronised by September, this year. Besides, the NTPC is finalising with Odisha government the setting up of 2×660 MW Talcher Thermal Power Plant. The State government in its HLCA meeting on January 9, 2020 approved the project.
NTPC has declared commercial operation of Unit-1 of Darlipali Plant on March 1, 2020. The State grid is being fed with 470 MW out if the 559 MW generated from the 800 MW unit. officially declared the commercial operation of Darlipali Super Critical Thermal Power Plant’s Unit 1.
The regional executive director, NTPC Eastern Region, Sanjeev Kishore, said that the Talcher Themal Power Station and the Talcher Super Thermal Station, Kaniha, have ranked among the best stations of NTPC so far as PLF is concerned. He said with 70.73% PLF, the ER II has ranked 4th among NTPC regions in fiscal 2019-20.
