Bhubaneswar: With chief minister Naveen Patnaik handing over appointment letters to 1038 doctors in one go on Saturday, the doctor: population ratio in the improved.
There were 5414 doctors were in position out of the total sanctioned strength of 8719. The number of doctors in position increased to 6452. The Odisha Public Service Commission has selected 1403 doctors for recruitment. The remaining 365 doctors will get appointment letters soon.
The induction training programme was also addressed by health minister Naba Kishore Das, chief secretary Asit Tripathy, development commissioner Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, health principal secretary Nikunja Kishore Dhal and 5T secretary VK Pandian.
