Bhubaneswar: Hindalco Industries Ltd, the flagship company of Aditya Birla Group, has launched a massive awareness campaign to combat COVID-19 pandemic at its Hirakud Cluster in Sambalpur district of Odisha.,
A team of medicos dedicated to each unit at Hirakud, FRP and Aditya Birla at Lapanga is supervising the care of the employees.
Speaking about the measures undertaken, the Cluster Head of Hindalco Rajesh Gupta said, “We have ensured strict adherence to all rules and advisories of the government of India and the government of Odisha, both inside the plant as well as in its townships at Hirakud and Lapanga. People are not allowed to congregate under any circumstances and movement of people living at its townships has been strictly monitored. The Company has also ensured that essential items are available within the township and it has advised its residents to maintain a 2 Meter distance between each other while buying essential commodities on day to day basis and medicines.”
He also added that two ambulances have been placed under the dispoals of the district administration to fight Covid-19.
Speaking about the measures undertaken at Aditya Aluminium Lapanga, Gupta said, with the support of the company, the women self-help groups(SHGs) of Khadiapalli village have prepared around 3000 masks and contributed the same to the district administration for use during this Corornavirus crisis.
