Bhubaneswar: Retired senior bureaucrat and former Bhubaneswar ADM Banchanidhi Bisoi passed away, here on Wednesday. He was 95.
Bisoi breathed his last in the presence of his four sons, Samlai Prasad Bisoi, Surendra Prasad Bisoi, Dilip Bisoi and Sidhartha Bisoi, two daughters, Sneha Prava Bisoi and Sweta Prabha Bisoi, son-in-law Sadananda Sahoo. His 12 grand children, Ipsita, Lipsa, Abhipsa, Sankalp & his wife Ipseeta, Sheetal, Alankrut, Tuhin, Trinayana, Arpita, Shibani, Bunty & wife Pinky and Tina were also present near his death bed.
During his service career spanning over three decades, he had earned a name in Bhubaneswar and Kalahandi where he was posted as ADM. His handling of Kalahandi drought as SDO Nuapada and ADM Kalahandi had been highly appreciated. He had received accolade from the former prime minister Indira Gandhi for his managing the law and order situation. Being the ADM Bhubaneswar he was holding magistrate power during a visit of Gandhi to Bhubaneswar.
He was popular among poor people for his free service as a homeopath practitioner.
