Cuttack: The Odisha high court has introduced e-filing of cases and hearing of cases through video conferencing from today in its effort to keep social distancing at the time of Coronavirus pandemic.

The high court deputy registrar (judicial), SK Misha, has issued the notice regarding ‘Odisha High Court e-Filing and Video Conferencing Scheme 2020’, here on Wednesday.

From today filing of cases in the high court will be done by sending scanned copies of application and relevant documents through mail in e-mail ID : efilingohc@gmail.com. Advocate/ parties have to be prepared with video conferencing facilities for hearing before one hour of commencement of the hearing through video conferencing.

The arrangements have been made ‘in order to effectively ensure access to justice having due regard to requirements of public safety in the prevailing circumstances.’ The arrangement shall come into force from 9th April and would continue ’till the exigency arising out of COVID-19 persists.’
