Bhubaneswar:Utkal Alumina International Ltd UAIL), Doraguda, a unit of Aditya Birla Group in Kashipur Block of Rayagada district in Odisha has distributed around 42,000 masks to all its stakeholders and the people in all it’s peripheral villages . While around 12,000 odd masks have been prepared by its own Garment Manufacturing Unit, Saksham, which is set up in Tikiri village, the rest have been procured by the company for distribution amongst the people.
Saksham, a garment unit run by women of Tikiri college with the support of UAIL Project, has stitching ten thousand masks till date and in an average they are stitching 900-1000 masks per day.
Deliberating upon this, the Unit Head of UAIL, N. Nagesh said, “In our constant endeavour to safeguard the community in our district and around our operations we will do whatever best possible and I actually admire the determination and efforts of these women at Saksham for manufacturing the masks and our entire team who are working on ground to distribute them”.
