Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has started the preparation to start construction activities in the State from next week.

As the union home ministry guidelines is going ease the lockdown restrictions from 20th April, the Odisha government has decided to launch construction activities in the State.

The revenue and disaster management (R & DM) department has issued a standard operation procedure (SOP) to carry out construction activities emphasising on maintenance of social distance at work place. The additional chief secretary and special relief commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena, in his letter regarding the SOP has directed the department heads, revenue divisional commissions and the district collectors to ensure adherence to the SOP in construction sites.

The works department has come out with a directives for chief engineers of DPI & R, Building,World Bank, National Highway, and NHAI to ensure adherence to the SOP of the R & DM in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and heatwave.
