Bhubaneswar: One person was killed and one person critical and several others injured when a bus carrying migrant workers from Surat to Odisha plunged into gorge near Kalinga Ghati in Odisha’s Phulbani district on Saturday night.
According to Southern Range DIG Satyabrata Bhoi, one person has been killed and one critically injured while several others have sustained injuries. According him, there were about 50 persons including women and children in the ill-fated bus.
The DIG said that the rescue team has arrived on the spot and shifting of injured persons to nearby hospital has started.
With relaxation of the lock down large number of migrant workers are returning to Odisha in buses by making their own arrangement.
Chief fire officer Sukanta Kumar Sethi said 40 people rescuedfrom the accident site. According to him the casualty is less because turned to one side instead plunged into the gorge.
