Bhubaneswar reported very few domestic violence cases during lock down.

Following the instructions from chief minister Naveen Patnaik, the Odisha police had launched a special drive against domestic violence. It created awareness and introduced a toll free number to receive complaints 24 hours. Not only that making a proactive initiative the police from its side contacted as many as 5649 persons .

However, the police could find only 1% domestic violence cases from the 5649 out reaches.

This was revealed at the review meeting taken by chief minister, here on Tuesday.

The police have taken action against 6500 persons for violation of lock down. Similarly, 47,000 vehicles were seized during the lock down period . The vehicles were subsequently returned to their owners.
