Bhubandswar: Odisha has witnessed a surge in Covid-19 positive cases as it ramps up testing in the State.
The number of Covid-19 positive cases has touched 219 by the evening of Thursday. The total test has crossed 50,000 mark.
The National Health Mission State director Shalini Pandit said that there is no reason to be panic as the number is increasing due to increase in the number of tests. She said the testing has reached 3000 from 1500 per day. In next week the testing will be rampped to 15,000 by next week.
Odisha government chief spokesperson on Covid-19 Subroto Bagchi, I &PR secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Information & Public Relations Department and RMRC director Dr. Sanghamitra Pati, also briefed the press about steps taken by government of Odisha for prevention of COVID-19.
