Kolkata: A woman of West Bengal’s Birmbum district has allegedly killed her two-year- old nephew by locking him inside a cupboard.
According to police report, the woman, Tajmira Bibi, slapped the nephew when he quarreled with her son. She then locked him in her cupboard as the boy fell unconscious. The police recovered the body of the boy from the cupboard after six hours.
Police said that Tajmira Bibi and the boy’s mother Shampa Bibi were often fighting over family matters. On Thursday, they had a heated altercation and on Friday afternoon, the child went missing while playing.
A senior police officer of Birbhum district said that the body was later found from Tajmira Bibi’s cupboard.
The senior police officer said that Tajmira had slapped the boy becasue he fought with her son as a result of which the boy fell unconscious. She then locked the boy in her cupboard. The accused has been arrested, said the senior police officer.
