Rourkela: Continuing the streak of success for the second consecutive day, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of the Maharatna Company SAIL, has again set a new record by producing 13,590 tonnes of Hot Metal on 16th October from three Blast Furnaces. The previous best of 13, 316 tonnes was recorded the previous day that is 15th October 2020 from the same three furnaces.
Out of the 13,590 tonnes, Blast Furnace-1 has contributed 2834 Tonnes, Blast Furnace-4 made 2413 tonnes while the remaining 8343 tonnes have been produced by Blast Furnace-5.
RSP CEO Dipak Chattaraj visited the Blast Furnace – 1 complex on 17th morning accompanied by Mr. P K Dash, ED(Works) and other Senior Officers of RSP. They interacted with the employees of Blast Furnace led by Mr. B R Babu, CGM(BF) and HODs and employees of other associated Departments. The event was organised with strict adherence to the Covid – 19 guidelines.
Speaking on the occasion, Chattaraj congratulated the collective and appreciated the team work and the coordination between different Departments. Mr. Dash urged the employees to make all out efforts to meet the set targets. The collective on their part assured of their co-operation for achieving the same.
The feat was achieved due to the integrated team effort of all the associated departments like Sinter Plant, Raw Material Handling Plant, Coke Ovens, Traffic and Raw Material, Captive Power Plant, Oxygen Plant, Production, Planning and Control Department and Research and Control Laboratory, the quality supply of raw materials and the determined efforts of the Blast Furnace collective.
