New Delhi: Odia Samaj, New Delhi, a leading not-for-profit, socio-cultural organisation and an effective & neutral think tank is going to organise a webinar on current scenario of agriculture and other allied sectors in Odisha and how Odisha can be self-dependent in the field of agriculture – “Odisha Ra Krushi O Atmanirvarata” – on 06th November 2020 at 5 PM.
Reports say, agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for about 58% of India’s population. Gross Value Added (GVA) by agriculture, forestry and fishing was estimated at Rs 19.48 lakh crore (US$ 276.37 billion) in FY20. Growth in GVA in agriculture and allied sectors stood at 4% in FY20. Agriculture also plays a crucial role as part of the dream vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat announced by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi this year. Under this mission, various steps are being taken at Centre and State level towards transformation of agriculture into sustainable enterprises. Recently Government of India has taken a host of historical pro-agriculture landmark initiatives towards the development of Atmanirbhar Krishi in India. In order to update people with knowledge about these initiatives, Odia Samaj, New Delhi has decided to hold this online dialogue and guide people on how to make Odisha self-reliant in the field of agriculture.
The webinar will be addressed union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who will be the chief guest of the session and the president, Odia Samaj Siddhartha Pradhan.

Pattanayak, IAS (Retd.), Director General Administrative Staff College of India, Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary & DG, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, Dr. Saurabh Garg, IAS, Principal Secretary, Dept. of Agriculture & Farmers Empowerment, Govt. of Odisha, P K Swain, Joint Secretary (Marketing & AMA), Dept. of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India, Sanjeev Kumar Chadha, Managing Director, NAFED (National Agricultural Co-operative Marketing Federation of India Ltd.) are slated to grace the webinar as the speakers. Pradipta K Sahoo, Business Head-Safal and member Odia Samaj, New Delhi shall be the moderator of the webinar.
