Lakhnow: Uttar Pradesh government has turned its focus on equipping the state with potential of solar power to meet its energy requirements.
Reiterating the ambitious target of installing 10,700 MW solar energy projects by 2022, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has stated at the Renewable Energy Investment Meet and Expo 2020 that, “The work is going on a war-footing to turn the state into a self-sufficient entity.”
Underlining govt’s motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, CM Yogi Adityanath added, “Every part of the state should receive investment so that holistic development could take place.”
Under the UP solar energy policy, Yogi govt is eyeing private investment of Rs 50 billion over next 2-3 years.
Top energy companies like Adani Power, Essel Infraprojects Limited, Azure Power, Sukhbir Agro Energy Limited, Amplus Energy Solutions and CleanMax Solar have shown interest in setting up solar power units.
