Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Public Service Commission (IPSC) has completed the recruitment process for medical officer post with in a record 15 days. It has recommended 786 successful candidates to the government for appointment as medical officer.

“On the basis of requisition from the government in health and family welfare department for recruitment of doctors, OPSC took it as a challenge to complete the process as soon as possible so that the newly inducted doctors shall boost the efforts of the State government in fighting the pandemic.”

“After giving one month time for inviting application, the Commission decided to conduct Computer Based Examination to reduce the duration of process.
On 28.04.2021 the examination was held across 15 centers and 1491 candidates took the examination.”

“Rules governing recruitment of medical officers stipulated written mark (weighted 70%) added to career assessment (weighted 30%) shall determine the overall merit list of candidates. Now after assessing both the component through developed software CSMS module, result is being published on 12.05.21, thus completing the recruitment in 15 days time, a record for the Commission. By recommending doctors for appointment by the health and family welfare department when they are needed most. “

The OPSC thus sets a new bench mark of speed and accuracy in conducting future recruitment test. As many as 786 doctors have been recommended by the OPSC for appointment in government service.
