Kolkata: The much-hyped Narada Sting Operation Case is expected to be transfered to Odisha. The Kolkata high court is now seized of the matter following a petition by the CBI.
Given the high voltage drama played in Nizama Palace and the CBI court premises by the ruling TMC early this week and the CBI’s petition before the high court for transfer of the case to some other State, the Kolkata high court is expected to pass an order in this regard tomorrow.
In that eventuality, Odisha may found favourite with the CBI officials. Odisha, which comes under the CBI’s Eastern Region establishment, would be suitable logistically to it. Moreover, since Odisha is ruled by a Non-BJP government, there would no scope for complaints by the TMC.
The Kolkata high court, which has stayed the bail order passed by the CBI court on Monday, has posted the case for hearing on Friday. Today, the court could not take up the case due to some “unavoidable circumstances”.
