New Delhi: Prime minister Narendra Modi Monday announced that all above 18 years in the country will be given free vaccine. The PM said the free doses would be made available by the Centre to the States with a view to launch the free vaccination programme from June 21, the International Yoga Day.
Modi said 25% jabs will be made available to private hospitals but with rider that the service charge would not be more than Rs 150 above the cost per dose.
Earlier, the Centre’s share of vaccination was 50% while the States’ and private hospitals 25% each.
With the PM’s announcement, India adopts One Nation One Vaccine” programme.
