Bhubaneswar: Congress in Odisha has started asserting itself in the State. The party has suspended two of its senior members for anti-party activities. The axe has fallen on party’s sitting MLA Mohammed Muquim and party’s one of the former acting president Chiranjib Biswal.
The party was not in a position to take action against errant senior leaders fearing retaliation. However, eversince Rahul Gandhi’s acceptance has increased among the voters of country and the electoral victory in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka assembly elections, the Odisha unit has started asserting itself.
