Bhubaneswar: The five-day Chilika Shelduck International Folk Carnival 2023 will begin from Friday at Odi Art Centre, Barkul, near Balugoan, about 80km.away from here.
The five- day event is packed with back-to-to programme of seminars, panel discussions and workshops on art, culture and environment. Evenings will be having colourful folk shows like Korean and Indian Mask Dance, Sahi Jatra, Jharkhand Jumar Dance, Bhanjanagar Animal Dance, Sambalpuri Dance, Purulia Chhau, Ganjam Thakurani Jatra, Nabarangpur Benta Nrutya, Mayurbhanj Chhau, Dhemsa Dance, Sikkim Mask Dance.
Odi Art Centre chairman PC Mohanty will preside over the inaugural ceremony and secretary Manas Patnaik will readout the annual report Priya Ranjan Kar, Om Prakash Mohapatra and Banesha Mishra are the master of the ceremony.
On this occassion Odi Art Lok Kalakruti Sanmmanawill be conferred on Benudhar Mohapatra, Debasis Mohapatra, Mayurbhanj Chhau, Sikkim Mask Dance, and Sambalpuri Dance, said Swadesh Patnaik.
