Barbil: ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS India) India has commenced an anti-dengue campaign at Thakurani village and various wards in Barbil Municipality to spread awareness and combat vector borne diseases. The campaign, which will run for a month, involves fogging, anti-larva spray and spreading door-to-door awareness by distributing informative leaflets.
The Dengue Awareness Mobile Van was flagged off at Kara Basti of Barbil municipality by Babirani Mohanta, Counsellor, Ward-2, Barbil, Mukesh Thawait, Manager, Thakurani Iron Ore Mines, AM/NS India, Arun Agrawal, Lead-CSR, Barbil, AM/NS India in the presence of community members, school children and other AM/NS India employees.
Dengue is a major challenge in the area and AM/NS India believes that it can be overcome only with collective participation. The company gives utmost importance to health and wellbeing of its peripheral communities. Through its CSR initiatives under Project Aarogya, AM/NS India continues to support community health and wellness.
Babirani Mohanta appreciated AM/NS India’s effort and its commitment towards improving community health and wellbeing. She also advised the school children and community members to maintain cleanliness in their surrounding area to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes.
