Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has set a target of procuring 66 lakh tonnes of paddy in the current 2024-25 kharif season.
The State cabinet under the chairmanship of chief minister Mohan Majhi has approved the State Food & Procurement Policy for 2024-25.
The government will procure 80 lakh tonnes of paddy for 54 lakh tonnes of rice in kharif and rabi season which starts from October 1, 2024 and ends on September 30, 2025. In khariff season 66 lakh tonnes paddy and 14 lakh tonnes in rabi season will procured. The chief minister has said the government will procure all paddy that will be brought to mandis by the farmers.
