Bhubaneswar: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Directorate of Ports & Inland Water Transport and National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways, and Coasts (NTCPWC), IIT Madras, for the preparation of the Odisha Maritime Perspective Plan in the presence of Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Commerce and Transport Department.

Ms. Padhee underlined the purpose of the preparation of such a plan and welcomed all stakeholders.

The meeting aimed to gather feedback and suggestions from stakeholders, including representatives from relevant government departments, transport and logistics,maritime experts, port operators, and the Boat Owners’ Associations, to gain a deeper understanding of grassroots-level concerns, issues, and requirements.

Prof. Kantharaj Murali, Dean, NTCPWC, IIT Madras presented an outline of the proposed Odisha Maritime Prespective Plan to the attendees. Following this, the stake holders present shared their suggestions and perspectives on the proposed OMPP. The officials from NTCPWC, IIT Madras, documented the feedback for further deliberation. A feedback form and a copy of presentation by NTCPWC, IIT Madras were distributed to all invited members for submission of their feedback, suggestions, and insights to NTCPWC, IIT Madras, for further consideration and incorporation into Odisha Maritime Perspective Plan.
