Bhubaneswar: Pankaj Satija, Executive In-Charge, Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division (FAMD) of Tata Steel has been conferred with the Distinguished Alumnus Award under the category Bhaskar Bhattacharjee Memorial Award for the year 2024 by the Indian Institute of Technology (ndian School of Mines), Dhanbad. The premier institute gave away the award to Satia for his pioneering contributions to the mining sector.

Expressing gratitude on receiving the award, Pankaj Satija said, “It’s an honour to be recognised by my alma mater. This recognition reinforces the commitment to driving sustainable mining solutions and leveraging technology for a better tomorrow. In recognition of this, the institute bestowed Satija with the prestigious award for his efforts in transforming the mining sector with sustainable and tech-driven initiatives Notably, IIT (ISM), Dhanbad, organises its alumni reunion event ‘Basant” every year and felicitates its distinguished alumni members acknowledging their remarkable achievements and contributions in their respective fields.
