Bhubaneswar: Odisha is soon going to announce its first Pumped Storage Project (PSP) policy which aimed at attravcing investment in the sector.

The draft policy was discussed at a high- level meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister,Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. Singh Deo gave his valuable inputs for framing separate SOPs for state-identified off-the-river PSPs & self-identified off-the-river PSPs.The detailed SoP and operational guidelines for the PSPs will be issued under this.
Singhdeo said, “The Government of Odisha in the Energy Department notified the Odisha Renewable Energy Policy, 2022, earlier. Now, with an aim to create a conducive ecosystem for the development of renewable energy and to accelerate the adoption of clean energy, decarbonization of the energy sector, while attracting investment in the Pumped Storage Projects (PSPs), the Government of Odisha is framing a draft for the Odisha PSP Policy 2025.”
Development Commissioner Ms. Anu Garg, Principal Secretary, Energy Department,Vishal Dev, EIC Electricity Pyarimohan Mishra, and senior officials from OHPC, GRIDCO, and Water Resources participated in this meeting.
