Bhubaneswar: ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) observed World Health Day at its operational locations in Odisha aligned with the global theme for this year, “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures”. With engaging activities, awareness workshops and free tests and consultations, the company reaffirmed its commitment to the health and well-being of its employees and the surrounding community.
In its Paradeep Complex, the day commenced with an energetic walkathon for employees and families organised by the medical team within the plant premises. The walkathon was followed by a session on nutrition and healthy diet and a Zumba Fitness session. The journey to better health continued with consultation sessions through the day focusing on specific health concerns such as ortho and joint-related issues, sitting posture management, neuro-related concerns, etc. Further emphasising on preventive health measures, the medical team also conducted Bone Mass Density tests, as well as screenings for Blood Pressure and Random Blood Sugar levels, and offered guidance on Weight Management.


The Safety team organised a fitness session at Power Plant and conducted a webinar on Chemical Risk Assessment and provided training on occupational health care. They also held an interactive session focused on chemical safety, health and welbeing in workplace, which saw enthusiastic participation from employees and workers. The Odisha Project team marked the day with a Yoga session and a large-scale health awareness initiative related to project activities. The team conducted cleanliness drives at both the workplace and the living areas of contract employees, along with an awareness programme for users of display screen equipment (DSE).

World Health Day was observed by Dabuna Beneficiation Plant in Keonjhar where awareness sessions were organised for employees and partners at the DD Sports Complex lead by doctors from Dabuna OHC. The mining team of AM/NS India, in collaboration with HelpAge India.

Foundation, also organised an awareness session emphasising on the importance of healthy lifestyles and disease prevention at the Community Health Dispensary in Dalķi near Thakurani Mines. The session was attended by company employees, workers alongsidel local community members. With such initiatives across Odisha, AM/NS India reinforced its commitment towards building a culture of health and wellbeing for its employees, partners and community members.
