Berhampur: In a major boost to power reliability in Ganjam district, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has successfully completed the interlinking Chikiti 33 kV feeder with Digapahandi Primary Substation (PSS). This strategic initiative, executed under the CAPEX plan for FY24-25, reflects TPSODL’s commitment to enhancing power infrastructure and ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply to its consumers.

As part of the project, a 1.6 circuit km long 33 kV line has been constructed to establish a back feeding supply line to Digapahandi notified area council (NAC) from the Chikiti Grid. The newly laid feeder line will serve as a reliable alternative source of power during outages or maintenance work, thereby improving quality of power supply across the region.

The project also includes the installation of Ring Main Unit (RMU) to facilitate faster fault isolation and efficient load management. The RMU is connected with one incoming and two outgoing power supply. In case of any disruption in one line, the RMU allows seamless power supply through the backup line, thereby minimizing downtime. This initiative will benefit around 12,000 consumers, providing a stable power supply to residents and commercial establishments in Digapahandi town.

TPSODL CEO Amit Kumar Garg said, “TPSODL has remained steadfast in strengthening power infrastructure. This project is a step forward in our mission to provide high-quality electricity to our consumers. The new feeder link not only reinforces the network but also enhances resilience, ensuring minimal disruption in power supply.”
