Bhubaneswar: If you want Bay of Bengal is named as Kalinga Sagar, then vote for Kalinga Sena.
Kalinga Sena, a fringe regional political party in Odisha, has promised to change the name of Bay of Bengal in it came to power. The party in its election manifesto for the 2019 elections has promised the voters of Odisha, the erstwhile Kalinga to change the name of the Bangopasagar into Kalinga Sagar.
Kalinga Sena, which has fielded candidates in several Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies, has also promised to raise Kalinga Regiment, and set up Kalinga Bank.
“Odia Builders, contractors, industrialists, traders, suppliers, and education entrepreneurs would be given protection”, said the Kalinga Sena chief Hemanta Rath.
The Kalinga Sena manifesto also touched upon the Odisha economy. It has promised to replay the Rs 98,000 crore loan burden of the state by recovering the Rs 85,000 crore fines and dues pending with the mining companies and industrial houses towards illegal mining, water cess and electricity dues. The party also promises that the mines lease of big houses would be cancelled and would be distributed among the young Odia entrepreneurs.
The party has fielded cadidate in Puri, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Bhadrak Lok Sabha, Bhubaneswar Ekamra, Bhubaneswar Madhya,Bhubaneswar Uttara, Ghasipura, Chandbali, Bhadrak, Sukinda, Jajpur, Dharmasala, Salepur, Badachana, Mahanga, Ranapur, Nayagarh and Balikuda-Ersama assembly constituencies.
