New Delhi : The union petroleum and steel minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, met the Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik at Odisha Bhawan, here on Friday. The two leaders discussed about the steel making potential of Odisha.
Pradhan said that the National Steel Policy envisages that Odisha would produce 100 million tonnes of steel out of the targeted 300 million tonnes capacity the country’s going to achieve. The meeting discussed about the strategies to make the state steel hub of the country, he added.
Pradhan said that the meeting also discussed about the devastation caused by the cyclone Fani. The Centre and the state would join hands to restore and rehabilitate the cyclone affected people and the areas, he added.
The union minister clarified that there was no politics in the meeting. “We discussed how the Modi government at the Centre and the Naveen government in the state would work in full cooperation to fulfill the aspiration of the 4 crore Odia people.
