Cuttack: The Special Investigation Team(SIT) on black money vice chairman Justice Arijit Pasayat Tuesday said that there is rampant use of black money in elections. To curb this use of black money in elections, there is need to amend the laws, he viewed.
The supreme court appointed SIT met under the chairmanship of Justice Pasayat, here at his resident on Tuesday. The eighth meeting of the SIT was attended by senior officials of CBI, Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax, state police, Crime Branch and Vigilance Directorate.
Expressing concern over the rampant use of black money in elections as it evident from the seizure of Rs 3,800 crore during the elections, Justice Pasayat said that the SIT is going to submit ist 7th interim report within a couple of months.
The meeting, India Whispers overheard, discussed about the progress made in various cases relating to black money trasactions. It also discussed about the strategies how to bring back the black money stashed abroad .
