Rourkela: The Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) hosted a customers meet for the steel plates, here on Monday. As many as 25 MoU customers belonging to 16 organisations attended the meet at the Plant’s HRD Centre.
Addresing the meet, the chief executive officer Dipak Chattaraj said, “Our valued customers have played a very crucial role in the success or progress that we have achieved. In our pursuit of excellence they have been our constant partners.”
The Sail ED(marketing) M. C. Agrawal, ED(works), Gautam Banerjee, and RSP ED(MM) D. K. Mohapatra interacted with the customers during the programme.
Elaborating about RSP’s commitment to produce safe steel and green steel, the CEO also highlighted about the SAP system of RSP through which the status of the orders can be tracked at every step, making the entire process completely transparent. Chattaraj also exhorted the customers to share their problems, ideas and suggestions freely so that the same can be addressed and in the process RSP can further improve its quality, service and efficiency.
Gautam Banerjee, in his address, spoke about the state-of-the-art facilities and product profile of new Plate Mill. D. K. Mohapatra highlighted the new facilities and equipment being added to the New Plate Mill to further improve the quality and surface finish of the products.
Speaking on the occasion, M. C. Agrawal, said that RSP has a major share in the plates market of the country. As customers from all the major segments of the plates market were present, he expressed hope that the Meet will be a very fruitful exercise.
Earlier DGM(PPC) Sunita Singh made a presentation on the production trend, superior quality, product range and testing facilities of the New Plate Mill of RSP.
In the interaction session, many of the customers expressed happiness over the chemistry, mechanical property, surface finish and other properties of RSP plates.
Assistant manager, New Plate Mill, Nivedita Behera coordinated the session.
Earlier in the morning, the customers visited the New Plate Mill and took a keen interest in the process of plate making. The meet was attended by customers from various segments like makers of pipes, pressure vessels, wagons, machinery, structural and earth moving equipment to customers engaged in the construction of important buildings and bridges. Some major customers who attended the Meet included M/s Escorts Ltd., M/s FORBES VYNCKE (P) LIMITED, M/s Afcons SIBMOST JV, M/s Hardrock Fabrication Pvt Ltd, and M/s ISGEC.
