Bhubaneswar: The President of India, Ramnath Kovind has arrived in Gopalpur in Ganjam district as part of his two-visit to the State from Friday.
The Odisha forest & environment and parliamentary affairs minister, Bikarm Kehari Arakhu, received the President and his wife, the first lady of the nation, at Rangeilunda airstrip near Berhampur university on Friday.
The President will grace the convocation of Army Air Defence College at Golabandh.
The President was earlier received at Biju Patnaik International Airport by the Odisha governor Ganeshi Lal, chief minister Naveen Patnaik, union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan, union MSME minister Pratap Sarangi, chief secretary Asit Tripathy and DG Police BK Sharma. Immediately after his arrival at Bhubaneswar airport by a special Air Force Aircraft, the President left for Army Air Defence College at Golabandha in Ganjam district in an Air Force helicopter.
The President is also to lay the foundation stone for the Paika Memorial to be erected near Khorda.
