Bhubaneswar: The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, is not going to celebrate his birthday on Wednesday in respect of the people those who suffered due to the damages caused by the cyclone Fani which hit the Puri coast on May 3, 2019.
Naveen will turn 74 on Wednesday.
Patnaik has requested his BJD workers and well wishers to do something good for the orphan kids living in orphanages and disabled children studying in schools instead of coming to Naveen Nivas to wish him on his birthday. He has urged the people to make their birthday, wedding anniversaries, and their children’s birthday memorable by providing some kind of help to such needy children. He also expressed his happiness for the blood donation programme scheduled to be held all over the state on his birthday.
Patnaik had earlier skipped his birthday celebration when cyclone Phailin, Hudhud and Titli hit the State rendering several people homeless.
