Bhubaneswar: The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, Monday sanctioned Rs 17.50 crore to make all the 587 police stations in the State people friendly. The amount will be disbursed from additional contingency fund.
The chief minister’s decision came following the feed back received from the people under the Mo Sarkar initiative of the Naveen Patnaik government.
The 44 police stations under the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Police Commissionerate will get Rs 40,000 each per month while the 142 urban police stations elsewhere in the State will get Rs 30,000 each per month. The 351 rural police stations will get Rs 20,000 each per month.
The 4 Mahila police stations, 5 traffic police stations, 15 railways police stations, 4 cyber police stations and one each crime branch, economic offence, STF police stations would get Rs 30,000 per month.
The 18 coastal police stations would get Rs 20,000 each per month.
