Bhubaneswar: The three-day Mukteswar Dance Festival came to an end with scintillating group dance performance by Odissi doyen Kumkum Mohanty’s Geet Gobind organisation. The Odissi dance group invoked Lord Shiva through Shiva Bandana in managala charan which was followed by Pallavi based on raag Mohana. The group presented Devi Bandana Bhabanyakastam in abhinaya. The dance creations were by Guru Kumkum Mohanty on the music rendered by Guru Pt. Dr. Damodar Hota.
The evening started with Om Naamah Shivaya, a Shiva Bandana, by Odissi vocalist Guru Ramahari Das and his troupe.
This was followed solo performance by Somya Bose from Kolkata. Her abhinaya ‘Ravana kruta Shiva Tandaba’ based on raag Ragamalika and taal Talamalika mesmerised the audience. She presented another abhinaya Krishna Tandaba Nachanti Range Srihari based on raag Arabi and taal Ektali. The pieces were choreographed by Guru late Kelucharan Mohaptra and directed by Sujata Mohapatra.
Santosh Kumar Ram and Sameer Kumar Panigrahi enthralled the audience with their presentation in duet -Anand Bhairavi Pallavi and abhinaya Ardhanariswara. Bichitrananda Swain had choreographed the pieces.
Former Odisha State Election Commissioner Sanjiv Hota, Odisha Tourism Development Corporation chairperson Srimayee Mishra, eminent Odissi dance exponent Padmashri Aruna Mohanty, tourism director Sachin Ramachandra Yadav and chief executive of GKCM Odissi Research Centre Sangita Gosain graced the concluding evening of the mega dance festival. Sanhati Pani and Mrutunjaya Rath anchored the programme.
