Bhubaneswar: Jindal Steel & Power’s TRB Iron Ore Mines in Tensa in Odisha has won the prestigious TPM Excellence Award in Consistent TPM Commitment for the second time from Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM), Tokyo, Japan.
The award will be presented in March 2020 in Kyoto, Japan.
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a method of pursuing production efficiency on a sustainable basis. JSPL’s Iron Ore mines won this internationally recognised award for its consistency in successfully adopting TPM in its operation.
On behalf of JIPM, Japanese assessors Mashayoshi Sugiura and Tetso Miyamura audited the TRB Iron Ore mines of JSPL in August 2019.
For successful implementation of TPM systems and process, the TRB Iron Mines became the first mines in India to receive TPM Excellence Award 2017.
Appreciating the team, JSPL’s chairman Naveen Jindal said, “JSPL is committed to the highest standards of operation across all its units. This Award is a reflection of our operational excellence in production, quality, occupational safety, health and environment friendliness which are of global standard. I congratulate the team for consistently using TPM system to improve the productivity and create value for the company”.
The TRB Iron Ore mines, under the leadership of Mr. Pramod Kumar Patra, Vice President (Mines) implemented TPM techniques focusing on its six main element which includes innovation, value creation, respect for the environment and people, operational excellence, accountability and flexibility in adaption to volatile, economic and social changes.
