Bhubaneswar: AMRI Hospitals Bhubaneswar, a leading healthcare provider of Eastern India, organized Bikeathon in the city on Sunday for cancer awareness and create consciousness around ill effects of cancer.

Over 150 professional super bikers, doctors and medical professionals participated the Bikeathon and promoted the cancer awareness among public.

The Bikeathon was flagged off by Agriculture minister Arun Kumar Sahoo along with DCP, Traffic, Police Commissionerate, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Sagarika Nath, Chief Marketing Officer, AMRI Hospitals, Mahendra Pala, Head, Medical Services, Dr. Manish Kumar, Asso. Vice President, Nilanjana Mukherjee and HR Head, AMRI Hospitals Bhubaneswar, Rajashree Upadhya.


A number of cancer survivors shared their accounts of struggle with the disease, and how they overcame the physical and mental trauma. Joining the Cancer Awareness drive, the Odisha Football Club (OFC) players participated in the Bikeathon and interacted with participants and cancer survivors.
Pala said, “It is important to have a multi-disciplinary approach towards cancer treatment and only super specialty hospitals like AMRI can provide that kind of support to cancer patients. We are happy to add this facility to our arsenal against cancer on this Cancer Awareness Month.”
