Bhubaneswar: The Odisha police filed first FIR against a Coronavirus suspect for jumping the quarantine.
” An US returnee registered for home quarantine was not following the advise and indulging in risky behaviour, ” said police. After getting complaints from the health department, the police has filed an FIR against the person after ascertaining prime facie of the case.
The Purighat police of Cuttack has registered a case under section 188/269/270/271 of IPC and sent the person to Institutional Quarantine.
The Bhubaneswar police have also filed a similar case against the family members of two persons who were roaming in public places instead of remaining in home quarantine. The two were to send to government quarantine.
” We had to take this painful decision in the interest of community”, the Odisha Police has said in a statement.
