Rourkela: In its endeavour to achieve customer delight, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has taken another major step forward wit its 60 year old Hot Strip Mill (HSM) rolled out coil with 12mm thickness and 1250 mm width for the first time to meet the requirements of customers.
It is worth mentioning here that, a team from Hot Strip Mill led by CGM in charge HSM, P Murli had visited some customers on 9th June to have face to face interactions, get their feedback and understand their expectations. During the discussions, the customers informed about their requirement of Hot Rolled Coils in the grade E250BR with 12mm thickness and 1250 mm width.
The Hot Strip Mill Operation team under the leadership of GM, HSM DK Yadav took up the challenge and decided to roll this critical section. The experienced team of HSM along with Production, Planning & Control (PPC) and Research and Control Lab (RCL) teams chalked out the detailed process chart for rolling of coil with these specifications.
Inclusion of this product will give an extra edge to Rourkela Steel Plant in today’s competitive market, said a RSP spokesperson.
