Bhubaneswar: Exports from Odisha has touched Rs 40,872 crore in 2016-17, registering a phenomenal growth of 114% over Rs 19,082 crore in 2015-16. And, the export jumped by 34 times from Rs5063 crore in 2001-02 to Rs19082 crore in 2015-16.. To enhance the export growth further, the state government is proposing to put in place a new Odisha Export Policy 2017 soon.
The chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, while addressing the ‘Export Strategy of Odisha’ workshop, here on Thursday, said that a new Odisha Export Policy would be announced soon. He said that the state is in the process of setting up a ‘Raptani Bhavan’ to accommodate all export related organisation under one roof with a view to provide single window facilities to the exporters.
The state MSME minister, Prafulla Samal, urged the exporters to exploit the maximum export potential of the state and engage themselves in more and more exports from the state. The MSME additional chief secretary, L N Gupta, stressed on development of export infrastructure of the state to bridge the gap of logistic support that the state required.
