Barbil (Odisha): With an aim to create awareness on the importance and need for workplace safety, health and environment, Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) observed 50th National Safety Day at its pellet plant premises here on Thursday.
Plant Head Brij Badhadra graced the occasion as chief guest and urged all the employees and workers to strictly follow safety guidelines and take precautionary safety measures at the work. “Safety comes first at JSPL. It should be placed as the first priority in our everyday work”, Shri Badhadra said.
He also urged all the employees and workers to always keep their job sites clean, hazard-free and productive.
On the occasion safety oath was administered to all the participants. As part of the observation, a safety chariot was also inaugurated which will run inside the plant premises throughout the weeklong celebration and disseminate safety awareness. It is mentionable, a host of activities including poster & slogan competition and essay writing on ‘safety’ have been designed by the Safety Deptt for participation of employees and workers.
Among others SK Agrawal, Head, Commercial; MD Purushottam, Head, Operation; SK Pattnaik, Head, Electrical; Sarat Kishore Panda, Head, HR & ES and Hercules Jena, Head, Occupational Health & Safety were present on the occasion.
