Bhubaneswar: Institue of Life Science (ILS), Bhubaneswar, is facing Covid scare. Ironically, the country’s premier research institute engaged in combating the deadly virus is bugged by the same killer agent.
What is worrying is that amidst the Covid scare, the union science and technology minister Jitendra Singh is expected to visit ILS on December 4. He is scheduled to inaugurate a new building in the campus
ILS staff and scientists are scared that the minister ‘s visit will further aggravate the Covid situation in the campus. According to them as many as 14 in the campus have tested positive with some of them hospitalised.
Staff and faculty members are wondering why the campus is not being closed and declared containment zone as yet.
