Bhubaneswar: Controversy has catapulted ‘Comedy in Khakee’ to a class club. Odisha’s ex-top cop Prakash Mishra’s memoir book ‘Comedy in Khakee’ turned out to be best seller. The book has found a place in Amazone’s best sellers list.
The book has gone to press with a printing order second edition.
The book has embrioled in a raging controversy with shrilling demands for its ban.
What kicked off the controversy is a chapter in the book. The chapter Uncanney Boss dwells on hillarous anecdotes involving the former chief minister Naveen Patnaik. Although Mishra has not mentioned the name of his former ‘boss’, the narratives were obvious. Mishra’s caricature of his ‘boss’ has not gone well with Naveen’s supporters. They have taken to the street.
In Hinjli constituency from where Naveen has been electedt to the State Assembly to become Leader of the Opposition after being CM for a record 24 years, his supporters burnt the copy of the book. In social media his fans demands that the book be banned immediately.
Meanwhile, youtubers in hordes taken sides to fan the fire.
Prakash Mishra, the former DG Police of Odisha who has become a BJP politician, must be laughing. For the thickeing of the controversy would certainly make his publisher laugh too.
