Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Tamil Sangam celebrated its silver jubilee year, here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, speakers said that the bonding of art and culture between Tamil Nadu and Odisha is from the pre-historic period.
Tamil Nadu high court judge justice R.Madhaban graced the jubilee celebration as the chief guest. Tamil Nadu government’s director of Tamil Development, K Vijayaraghavan, and Shakti Group chairman M Manikam were the guest of honours. While the founder of the organization and retired bureaucrat S. Sunderrajan presided over the meeting, the president of the organization, S. Duraiswamy, gave the welcome address and the auditor general (AG) of Odisha, R.Ambalavanan, gave the introductory speech. Tamil Sangam’s general secretary TBT Ansari read out the annual report of the organization.
Tamil and Odia students presented Bharatnatyam and Odissi dance as part of a cultural programme, said the treasurer of the ogranization V. Sridhar.
