Bhubaneswar: The curtain came down on Mukteswar Dance Festival, here on Tuesday.
Organised jointly by the Odisha Tourism Development Corproation (OTDC) and Odisha Sangeet Natak Academy, the festival showcased the dance talent of eminent dancers of the country.
On the concluding day, Gyatri Chand on solo, Sarita Mishra and Manisha Manaswani in duet and Bichitrananda Swain and troupe in group dance kept the dance connoisseurs mesmerized all through the icy evening.
Gyatri Chand started the evening with Shiva vandana in Mangala Charan based on raag Pahadi/ Darbari and taal Jati/ Ek Tali. She performed Nabarasa from Ramayana based on raa
g Raagmalika and taal Talmalika.
Sarita Mishra and Manisha Manaswani presented Pallabi based on raag Hansadwani and taal Ek Tali. The dance was choreographed by legendary dance guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra and music composed by maestro Pandit Bhubaneswar Mishra. The duo also performed an abhinaya Mohan Murati Chai based on raag Bharavi and taal Khemta. The dance was choreographed by Guru Bichitrananda Swain and music composed by Sangita Gosein.
Guru Bichitrananda Swain and his troupe presented a group dance on Mangalacharan based on raag Malabgouda and taal Ek Tali followed by Chandrika Kamodi Pallabi. Mahakali Struti based on raag Mohana, Bhairavi and taal Ek Tali .
Josodhara Ray, tourism director Nitin Bhanudas Jawle, deputy director Utpal Kumar Pati, Anglena, Dr. Sangita Gosain, Dr. Bijay Kumar Jena graced the closing ceremony. Anuja Tarini Mishra and Srinivas Ghatwari compared the programme.
