Bhubaneswar: Vitamins and Dietary Supplements (VDS) market size in India is Rs 8,400 crore and is poised to grow at 10 per cent in the next 5 years, said Amway India regional manager, eastern region, Chandra Chakraborty, here on Friday. According to him, out of the total VDS market, the herbal/traditional VDS market is estimated at Rs 2,400 crore which is 28 per cent of the category.
Chakraborty said Amway India, which has substantially expanded its nutrition and wellness product portfolio, aims to generate Rs 125 crore revenue by 2020 from the recently launched ‘Nutrilite Traditional Herbs Range’,
“With the launch of ‘Nutrilite Traditional Herbs Range’, our nutrition and wellness product portfolio has been enlarged backed by the best of nature and the best of science”, said Ajay Khanna, category head – Nutrition and Wellness . The direct selling FMCG company’s Nutrilite has maintained the leadership position for past 5 years with 12 per cent market share in 2017, he said adding, currently, Nutrilite contributes over 50 per cent to the total turnover, Khanna said.
The Nutrilite Traditional Herbs range comprises 4 products — Nutrilite Tulsi, Nutrilite Brahmi, Nutrilite Ashwagandha and Nutrilite Amalaki, Vibhitaki and Haritaki.
