Bhubaneswar: City based Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (deemed to be university), National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, Indian Institute of Technology,Bhubaneswar, and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology,Bhubaneswar have made it to the top 100 higher educational institutions of the country as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
SoA has topped the Odisha list with 38th position, while NIT Rourkela got 42 place. The IIT Bhubaneswar is in 51 position while KIIT deemeed to be university is in 65 rank in the
top 100 ranking list.
Bengaluru’s Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has topped the overall category list, followed by Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
The NIRF rankings for higher educational institutions was released by union human resource development minister Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi under nine categories – overall, universities, engineering, colleges, management, pharmacy, medical, architecture, and law this year.
The Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology has been ranked 91st in the universities category while C. V. Raman College of Engineering, Bhubaneswar, at 89th place in engineering category and Xavier University, Bhubaneswar, at 36th spot in management category.
The ministry prepares the list on the basis of teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practices, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and perception.
The India Rankings 2018 were done under the NIRF that considered 3,954 institutes across nine parameters. Launched in 2015, NIRF is a methodology adopted by the HRD Ministry to rank all institutions of higher education in India.
