Bhubaneswar: “With the expansion of Dhamra port, we would be able to take the advantage of the present geo-political environment and contribute significantly to the trade and commerce of entire Asia”, the Odisha chief minister said on Saturday while dedicating two special bulk-cargo berths, a fertilizer cargo complex and the barge-berth complex of the port at Dhamra.
Speaking on the occasion of inauguration of the berths and complexes which were part of the Dhamra Port’s second phase expansion programme, the chief minister said that the the projects would support Odisha’s economic growth. Specially, the fertilizer cargo complex would be facilitate availability of fertilizer to the farmers of the state, he added.
Stating that the Adani Skill Development Centre will provide global standard skill training to 1000 Odia youths every year, Patnaik urged the Gujarat based company to utilize the skill of Odia youths.
The chief minister said that the Dhamra port is considering to set up a commercial airstrip in the port area. He also urged the company to upgrade the single rail link to the port with double line.
Patnaik said that the state is aiming at developing an industrial park over an area of 700 acres in Dhamra with a view to attract more investment and generate job opportunity.
