Bhubaneswar: The state government has filled up 62,500 vacant posts in the last four years.
This was revealed at a high-level review meeting chaired by chief minister Naveen Patnaik, here on Monday.
The chief minister, while reviewing the process of recruitment in the state, directed the concerned authorities to fill up the remaining 7,500 posts laying vacant in various departments expedited the process of recruitment to 19,000 departmental posts.
Stating that a special drive should be launched to fill up the post reserved for the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, he has directed the ST & SC welfare department to complete the special drive in six months and review the matter at regular intervals.
Patnaik directed the Odisha Public Service Commission to complete the process of the Odisha Civil Service(OCS) Examination 2017 and publish results as soon as possible. He also said that the notification for the OCS Examination 2018 be published by May 31,2018 . Recruitment to the Assistant Section Officer posts be completed withing six months time.
The meeting was attended by chief secretary, AP Padhi, advocate general Surya Prasad Mishra besides other departments principal secretaries and secretaries.
